The examination process

  • WindEn will assist and apply for planning permission for the customer with the requisite documents. When the municipality has received a completed application it will be sent to the neighbouring properties, the authorities and other involved parties for consultation.
  • Any responses to the opinions will be made in consultation between WindEn and the customer.
  • The building department will consider the matter and reach a decision that will come into force approximately three weeks after the decision date. This is known as the appeals period.
  • The decision may be further appealed against to the County Administrative Board.
  • The planning permission ceases to be valid if the action has not been taken within two years and completed within five years from the date on which the permission was decided.

Submission of application for planning permission and report on decision

During the examination process planning permission is sought for the size and total height chosen by the customer from the municipality’s building department.  WindEn’s planning permission officer will assist with this process. The municipality would like a town and country building surveyor to be specified in the application as required by law. WindEn has a collaborative partner as standard. If the customer wishes to have another town and country building surveyor the customer will need to notify WindEn of this. When the municipality has received a completed application it will be sent to the involved parties for consultation, including the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration, the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), the telecommunications operators and the neighbouring properties. Other organisations and association may also be contacted in conjunction with a planning permission application. They will be given the opportunity to express their opinions on the matter and the municipality will determine whether or not these opinions are reasonable and whether they should be taken into consideration.  Any opinions will be responded to in consultation between WindEn and the customer.

The building department will then consider the matter and reach a decision that will come into force approximately three weeks after the decision date and approval of the minutes. This is known as the appeals period. The building department’s decision may be further appealed against to the County Administrative Board.

The planning permission ceases to be valid if the project has not been started within two years of the decision date or five years if work has been started.

The small wind turbine project will be started after the planning permission has entered into legal force and the project manager will then contact the customer for a coordination meeting.
