Our major focus areas from a quality point of view are:
• That the windmill should need no particular care during operation
• That maintenance needs are kept to a minimum
• That the windmill delivers the predicted amount of electricity
• That the windmill will have a satisfiably long lifespan
In order to assure a high quality base for building the WindEn windmill, we have chosen a very stable and secure technical solution. Our windmills are built from a mixture of our in-house developed components together with carefully chosen components from well-established suppliers.
To optimize the power, our windmills use Stall effect regulating. This means that at increasing wind speeds, the blades are aerodynamically designed in such a way to insure that their ability to generate power is maintained.
There are several benefits when using Stall effect regulating to optimize power, one is that it is an extremly fast way to regulate, another is that the work-load on the blades is much more evenly spread over their length. Compared to a construction, where the windmill is turned out of the wind, our construction is exposed to far lower forces, especially on the blades.
The WindEn windmills all have a large rotor and operate at relatively low rpm's. This results in a windmill, which is quieter, at the same time, as the output is high even at low wind speeds.
The generators that we use are of a proven design and are nearly impossible to wear out.
Due to the fact that we fulfill the European standard SS-EN 61400-2:2006, connection to the electrical network is very simple.
Our windmills use the force of the wind to find the correct positioning, a technique known as down-wind. This gives two main advantages:
A. The windmill is always in the optimal position to harvest the most possible energy from the wind.
B. There are less parts that need maintenance and surveillance in order to function for long periods of time.
